Emergency numbers cyber attack: Complete list

The bad news first: In Germany there is no central nationwide emergency number for hacked companies or authorities. That's why it's important to have an overview of all official emergency numbers in the event of cyber attacks and to know immediately where to turn in an emergency.

In this overview you will find all the official hotlines for victims of hacking attacks along with information about who each contact point is intended for. It's best to preventatively find all the numbers that are relevant to you and enter them in the emergency card recommended by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI): IT emergency card

Contact points for KRITIS, essential infrastructures and federal administration authorities

The National IT Situation Center in Bonn of the BSI has a confidential emergency contact number that is only passed on to operators of essential infrastructure such as energy providers or telecommunications network operators as well as to federal administration authorities.

Central contact point for cybercrime (ZAC) of the state police authorities

Each State Police Department presents one of its own Central contact points for cybercrime (ZAC) Ready with a special emergency number for cyber attacks:

Central emergency number for cybercrime of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA)

The main department of the German Criminal Police has set up a dedicated contact point specifically for those affected by cybercrime. This office works in close cooperation with the cybercrime specialists from the police authorities of all federal states.

Private cyber defense for specific cities

There are also one in the following federal states private cyber defense to disposal:

Baden-Württemberg is the first federal state to promote the establishment of private cyber defense. This pilot project was launched specifically for the cities of Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden and Rastatt.

After a pilot phase lasting several months, the Berliner State government financed Digital Agency Berlin GmbH a central cyber hotline began regular operations on September 7, 2022. This hotline offers companies in Berlin immediate first aid in the event of attacks on their IT infrastructure.

Attacker-specific contact point for victims of cyber sabotage and espionage

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) is actively involved in the investigation of cyber sabotage and espionage directed by foreign intelligence services against German companies and authorities.
